Ashford Kiwi 3 Spinning Wheel – Folding, Compact – Silver Beach Hardwood – Light Brown

I ordered an unfinished Kiwi3. I treated the natural beachwood with dark antiquing finishing wax. (I’ve never used finishing wax before.) I did all the wood pieces before assembly. I do like how it turned out. It gave the wood beautiful demension and will protect it. The assembly was very easy with detailed instructions. I did purchase Ashford spinning maintenance kit and the high speed adapter kit also. I recommend getting the oil at least. You will need to oil a few of the parts and use candle wax on the screws. That did make the wheel very quiet. I would completely recommend this wheel. There are many different upgrades available which allows for growth in spinning fiber. I’m very happy with my purchase. I wanted to put the finishing on before I assembled it. That was much easier and faster than I thought and easy clean up. I would definitely recommend putting some protection on the wood if you don’t buy one that is already finished. I decided to finish it myself so I could buy upgrades instead. Lol. I’m glad I did. I’m sure I will get many years of fiber spinning enjoyment. Ashford is a quality product with a solid reputation and a price that isn’t totally out of reach for the normal crafter. ??
