5 ft to 8.5 ft Marine-Grade Telescoping Boat Pole w/Removable Hook for Docking, Floating, Extra-Strong Aluminum, Boats up to 40 ft

When I first opened this up, I was amazed at how LONG it extends. It has to be about 12 to 15′ (not the 8.5′ in the description). That being said, it is fairly flexy when fully extended. The overall construction seems very good and the clamps hold the sections tightly. I’m not sure I’m a fan of the removable hook, as there are no other accessories included, and I’m not sure why you’d ever want to remove the hook on the end. The only thing it does is make the hook a bit less secure, since it is only held in place by slipping over the end of the pole. There is a spring-loaded pin in the end of the pole that must be pressed to slide the hook on, then the pin pops out through a hole in the hook end, holding it loosely in place.Overall for the price, this seems like a pretty good and versatile accessory. It stows away fairly small and compact, and yet extends way out to be able to reach something that might have floated away from the boat. We’ll see how it holds up to marine conditions, as I will be putting it to use on my offshore fishing boat where it will be continuously exposed to sea water.
